Rudolf Steiner College is one of America's leading Waldorf teacher education colleges. It is also a center for anthroposophical studies.
Programs at the College arise out of the work of Austrian philosopher, scientist and educator Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) whose innovative ideas and discoveries have inspired a wide spectrum of practical activities worldwide—in the arts, banking, architecture, medicine, agriculture, and care of the handicapped, as well as education.

The rapid expansion in the number of Waldorf schools in North America has
created a great need for teachers.
Because many people are unable to
attend an established Waldorf Teacher Training College, a four-year,
part-time course of study began at Summerfield Waldorf School in Santa
Rosa, California in 1990. The first class of teachers graduated in
1994.
